Nan was born in 1920 in South Shields, Tyne and Wear. During the war she worked hard as a barmaid, in foundries and as a maid in London. She married my grandad Stanley Howley in 1944 and had 5 children.
She lived in Wood Street for many years and was a keen darts player at the Sportsman pub.
She sadly passed away on 9th September 2001 with Alzheimer's Disease
